Duties

• General supervision of  correction and rehabilitation centers department  in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
• Classifying the inmates according to the classification standards locally and internationally, based on the type and seriousness of the crime.
• Providing health and social care for the inmates and adopting modern standards  towards rehabilitation of the inmates to return them to society as good citizens.
• Opening  international cooperation in order to achieve the development of the institutional work system, in coordination with the Department of Planning and International Cooperation.
• Rehabilitation of convicted inmates through to reintegrate them into society.
• Enabling inmates to change their behavior in a productive  manner and being able to take care of themselves and their families.
