The Duties of Training and Development Institute for Rehabilitation and Correction Centers are to:

• Prepare advanced and specialized training curricula.
• Develop and implement comprehensive training programs.
• Coordinate and cooperate with government and private institutions and civil society centers to develop inmates training, rehabilitation and care programs and create real opportunities for active participation.
• Coordinate public security efforts in the areas of development of correction centers.
• Coordination, cooperation and opening the communication channels with developed countries in the field of  correction to exchange experience, training and financial support.
• Assist in the development and modernization of the buildings and facilities of correction and rehabilitation centers.
• Issue awareness and guidance leaflets.
• Document, study and analyze events and crises to become a reference for study.
• Develop policies and procedures for the Centre's operations.
• Update training curricula regularly,  and develop courses and lessons plans.
• Use the modern technological means for surveillance, control and training to use and maintain them.
• Prepare and implement conferences, workshops, seminars, meetings and panel discussions on correction and rehabilitation issues.
• Coordinate and follow-up with AL-Balqaa Applied University on diploma programs.
