FLD purposes

• Applying qualitative quality standards in the laboratory tests conducted to complete all the tests for obtaining international accreditation.
•  Upgrading the role of the Forensic Science Training Center to become a leading center in the region to attract training courses from all countries.
•  Introducing the Smart Forensic Lab.
•  Developing the inspection unit (K9) providing it with more specialized police dogs, and establishing a regional center for the production of police dogs trainers.
• Completing the cases received by this department from the police directorates and the concerned authorities as soon as possible.
•  Qualifying the workers in the technical departments by holding specialized refresher courses to keep them in touch with all that is new and developed, as well as adopting a competency test for them.
•  Increasing entries in databases, especially the genetic database (DNA), fingerprint database and weapons database.
