Future Plan

Due to the Jordan search and rescue team obtaining the international classification of the heavy level, the Civil Defense has become a member of the International Advisory Board for Search and Rescue Teams (Insrak), which requires us to continue preparing and maintaining the local search and rescue teams, based on the keenness of the Director General of Civil Defense to develop the capabilities of search and rescue teams to be ready at any time to do the work required in the event of an emergency.

The local search and rescue teams in the regions are considered the first responders in the event of disasters that may occur in the regions, and their role in the early stages of the disaster focuses on the following:

  • Assess the nature and extent of the disaster.
  • Rescue of injuries in the early stages.
  • Provide information about the nature of the incident  to the authorities.

This, in turn, limits the negative consequences and dangers that a disaster may cause.
