Components

The search and rescue team consists of five basic units that form five integrated circles in their union, which complete the connection of the Jordan search and rescue team:

search unit: It is the unit responsible for searching for the injured under the rubble and locating them in two ways:

 Search by dogs: It is search operation  for the injured and trapped under the rubble using the specialized senses of the search dogs such as smell and sensing. Fields were prepared by the team’s search unit prepared and equipped to train dogs on these multiple skills after the team purchased 25 dogs in three stages and trained ten of them on searching according to the international specifications of INSARAG

 Technical research method: It is a method concerned with searching for the trapped by means of advanced equipment, cameras and sensors. The team has purchased many equipment for this purpose and according to international standards.

 

 rescue unit:

 It is the unit that deals with the basic work of the team and it is formed by members of the Jordan Civil Defense who have been carefully selected according to the conditions of (culture, desire, physical fitness, appropriate age and good morals), which enable them to deal with cases and procedures for rescuing the injured and those affected by disasters, and the team has fields that hosted an exercise in the month of May 2013.

Medical unit:

 

This unit complements the work of the rescue unit by providing appropriate health and medical care for the injured and those who were taken out by the rescue unit. This unit consists of six doctors and eleven paramedics.

 

Logistic support unit:

 

It is a unit concerned with supporting the team and providing it logistically in terms of livelihood, subsistence, transportation of equipment, personnel and administrative services necessary to sustain the team's operations.

 

management unit:

 It is the unit that forms the heart of the team and manages the team with its five units and the operations command. It is headed by the team leader, who in turn is also the commander of the unit. Its work is to manage the team with the local authorities of the affected country through liaison, media and communications officers, and manage the operations of the team and maintain the safety of its members through the operations commander and security officers.
