Institutional development and Establishment

  • 2006: pursuant to the Royal directives, the Environment Police Department was established.
  • 2008:  pursuant to the Royal directives, the name of the Royal Department for Environment  protection was changed (RANGERS)
  • 2018: The Environment Protection Department Regulation No. (37) of 2018 AD was issued under the Environment Protection Law No. (6) of (2017 AD) to organize the work of the Royal Department for Environment Protection, which became effective as of the date of its publication in the Official newspaper, as Article (3) of this stipulates The system states that a committee called (The Supreme Committee for the Royal department for Environment Protection) is chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Environment and the membership of each of: (His Excellency, Director of Public Security, Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment, Secretary General of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Secretary General of the Ministry of Local Administration , Director of the Royal Department for Environment Protection, Director General of the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, Director of the Environmental Inspection and Control Directorate at the Ministry of Environment - Secretary of the Committee).
  • 2020: ((Royal Department for Environment Protection) and (Tourist Police Department)) were merged in one department under the name (Royal Department for Environment and Tourism Protection).
  • 2023: The Royal Department for Environment Protection was separated to become the Royal Department for Environment Protection.
