Jordan Traffic Institute

Overview:

Pursuant to Royal directives, the Jordan Traffic Institute was established on December 21, 1996 as an independent unit in the Public Security Agency.

Work commenced at the current site on 20/08/2001 on a land area of (10.000) meters square.

Among the duties of the Jordan Traffic Institute are:

  • Raise the level of traffic safety on the roads and reduce accidents and their human and material consequences resulting from traffic accidents through the development of traffic safety policies and plans at the national level
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of cultural and traffic awareness plans and programmes
  • Contribute to conducting traffic studies and research, proposing traffic legislation, and setting specifications and standards for traffic controls.
  • Providing traffic consultations and rehabilitating traffic workers and repeaters of accidents and traffic violations from both the public and private sectors.
