Historical background 

1/1/2006, The Command of the Facilities Security Brigade was followed to the Command of the Special Security Forces under the name of the Diplomatic Security Brigade Command, where the organization of the brigade became as follows: Prince Hamzah bin Al Hussein/Security 2 , Prince Omar bin Faisal Brigade/Security 8, Departments/Security Battalion 13, Diplomat/Security Brigade 15

The department applies  the best modern and advanced scientific methods in procurement operations to reach a modern department  that provides distinguished services to all public security units and relevant authorities.

 19 / 6 / 2008: The issuance of the Royal directives to form the General Directorate of the Gendarmerie Forces, merging the brigade with the Gendarmerie Forces, changing the name to the Directorate of the Gendarmerie for Diplomatic Security and the departments, and changing the name of the battalions to (Diplomatic Security Brigade/18, Diplomatic Security Battalion/19, Security Battalion/20, Diplomatic Security battalion /21).

1/1/2016 the Gendarmerie Directorate for Diplomatic Security and departments was separated  from the General Directorate of Gendarmerie Forces and followed to the Public Security Directorate under the name “ the Directorate of Diplomatic Security and Departments”.

27/6/2018: amending the name of (Diplomatic Security Directorate and Departments) to (Diplomatic Security Department ).

8 / 4 / 2020 including  the women's police guards faction.

7/7/2021 The budget and name of the Diplomatic Security have been amended to the Diplomatic Security Command and Departments.
