The Committee of Women and Family Affairs in the House of Representatives chaired by MP Mayada Shreim visited the correction and Rehabilitation Center for Women, to see the most prominent efforts and services provided to female inmates in various correctional, humanitarian and social fields.

This visit comes in the framework of the partnership between the Public Security Directorate and state institutions, to observe the services provided by the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation Centers in the field of correctional work, in a manner that guarantees the preservation of the rights of inmates and the provision of the necessary human care for them, and in accordance with national legislation and international agreements.

The head of the Women and Family Affairs Committee in the lower House, Mayada Shreim, praised the efforts of the Public Security Directorate in the field of caring for female inmates during and after the period of detention, as part of its continuous approach to reform, providing a high level of care, health and service care, and providing the requirements of a decent life for the inmates of the center, so that they become more capable of living in society.

In the presence of Correction and Rehabilitation Centers of the Department Brigadier General Falah Al-Majali, the committee was briefed by the Director of the Women's correction and Rehabilitation Center, Lieutenant Colonel Alia Obaid, about the nature of the correctional and rehabilitative programs provided to the inmates, which aim to humanize the correctional work which leads to the rehabilitation of the inmates and their integration to society after their release.
