Public Security Directorate, as part of its traffic campaign, follows up on this type of dangerous violation through strict procedures, through which it seized more than 4,000 reckless or display driving violations, in addition to 48 violations of racing without approvals.

The amended traffic law raise  the penalties for these violations, with a penalty of up to 3 months in prison, a fine of up to 500 dinars, or both penalties, in addition to impounding the vehicle for a period of up to a month.

The spokesman said that the traffic technical committee formed to investigate the run-over accident that occurred yesterday evening in the Hofa area in Irbid governorate concluded, after conducting traffic investigations, to justify the cause of the accident by reckless or show-stopping driving and a road race for the vehicle that committed the accident.

The spokesman confirmed that, during the investigation in the accident, the second vehicle that participated in the reckless driving violation, the conduct of the race, and its driver were also identified.
