The Director of Public Security, Major General AbeidAllah Maaitah, met today in his office with the Minister of State in the Romanian Ministry of Interior, Dr. Raed Arafat.

The two parties, in the presence of the Jordanian Ambassador to Romania, Sufian Qudah, discussed ways to strengthen the partnership between the two civil defense agencies in the two friendly countries.

During the meeting, Major General Al-Maaitah stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two friendly sides, especially in the training and technical fields, to raise the efficiency of civil protection systems, and keep pace with international standards in the areas of humanitarian service provided to citizens.

The Director of Public Security referred to the level of cooperation between the two countries, aimed at raising capabilities, improving the level of service and responding to emergency situations, praising the Romanian civil defense capabilities and advanced work mechanisms in rescue, ambulance and firefighting operations.

For his part, Dr. Arafat stressed his country's keenness on sustaining Jordanian-Romanian cooperation in the field of civil defense, indicating to the importance of starting a number of participatory projects and training programs between the civil defense agencies in Jordan and Romania, in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of the service provided to citizens in the two friendly countries.
