Maj. Gen. Al-Maaitah visits the Civil Defense Directorate and praises the great humanitarian services provided by its members, and their professional handling of the Lweibdeh incident.

Director of Public Security: A new phase of work to develop civil protection systems, modernize the ambulance and rescue vehicles, and provide the latest devices and equipment.

Director of Public Security instructs the implementation of a plan to expand search and rescue teams dealing with dangerous materials, to ensure that they cover all governorates with the same effectiveness.

Director of Public Security Maj. Gen. AbeidAllah Maaitah conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of Jordan Armed Forces, to the personnel of the Civil Defense Directorate, and His Majesty's pride in their efforts and giving towards the homeland and citizens.

Al-Maaitah praised the great humanitarian services provided by the civil defense personnel, their professional handling of all incidents with great professionalism, and their sincere determination during their dealing with the incident of the collapse of the building in the Lweibdeh area.

Al- Maaitah also praised the great roles of civil defense in extending a helping hand to citizens, with the great ability shown by the civil defense teams in responding and dealing with various ambulance, rescue and firefighting incidents, or even in cases of evacuation and dealing with dangerous materials.

Maj. Gen. Al- Maaitah stressed that Public Security Directorate is continuing to improve these services, and raise them to the level of Royal aspirations and visions, and to be a model in providing the best services to citizens and residents.

Al- Maaitah explained that Public Security Directorate will launch a new phase of work to modernize civil protection systems, modernize the ambulance and rescue equipments, and enhance the capabilities of workers and rehabilitate them in various disciplines according to advanced training programs that enable them to perform their noble duties in the best manner.

Maj. Gen. Al- Maaitah also passed orders to start implementing a plan to expand search and rescue teams dealing with hazardous materials, to ensure that they cover all governorates with the same effectiveness, indicating to the need to build on what has been achieved in reducing and improving response time, because of its impact on saving lives.

Al- Maaitah directed to the necessity of reviewing all the incidents that were dealt with during this year, studying them and evaluating the forms of response and dealing, in order to identify and strengthen the positive points, feel the needs and directly meeting them.

The Director of Civil Defense presented a briefing in which he presented the most prominent plans and statistics for the executed duties, and the most important vehicles  and equipment used, which were introduced into the civil protection system.

Al- Maaitah also toured the main operations room in the Civil Defense, and listened to a briefing on work mechanisms, coordination and response to incidents  and incoming reports.
