Public Security Directorate, Al al-Bayt University signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of enhancing cooperation and partnership in spreading security and community awareness and education between students and the university’s academic and administrative bodies.

The agreement was signed by the Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. AbeidAllah Maaitah, and the President of Al-Bayt University, Professor Osama Naseer, during the meeting hold in the Public Security Directorate HQ on Wednesday.

Major General Al-Maaitah stated that Public Security Directorate is keen to consolidate partnerships with various educational institutions, such as Al-Bayt University, which is present in the heart of the nation, with the aim of enhancing community security and communicating with all segments of society, especially the youth group, stressing the necessity of raising the level of awareness among our students, and protect them from falling victims due to some practices and behaviors.

Major General Al-Maaitah explained the importance of building leading personalities among students, fortifying them with the necessary knowledge and skills, engaging them in spreading the security culture, and consolidating good values among young people in the university which contributes to enabling them to fulfill their role in building the nation.

In turn, the President of Al al-Bayt University praised the efforts of Public Security Directorate as well as the efforts towards universities and educational institutions and its interest in students and youth, and opening channels of community communication with the aim of spreading awareness in all governorates.

the President added that Al al-Bayt University, in its extended partnership with the Public Security Directorate, stems from its active role in enriching society with knowledge, enhancing national responsibility among students, protecting them from negative behaviors, and strengthening their role as active and responsible Jordanian youth, capable of serving their society and enhancing its security and stability.

It is noteworthy that the agreement includes the implementation of a number of programs, awareness-raising and cultural activities, training courses, and workshops related to educating students about the dangers of drugs, cybercrime, community violence, traffic education, skills for dealing with emergencies and civil protection.
