Correction and Rehabilitation Centers Department continued the  promising efforts in implementing correction programs for the care of  inmates in the scientific, training and health field.

the clinic of the Swaqa Correction and Rehabilitation Center was linked to the computing system (Hakim), in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the opening of a sweets factory in the Swaqa Rehabilitation Center.

The launch of these projects comes within the reform approach of the Public Security Directorate in implementing the promising plans launched by the Correction and Rehabilitation Centers Department to support inmates acquire skills and knowledge that will enable them to reintegrate them to the community after their release.

The project to link the clinic to the computerized network system (Hakim), which was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the International Committee of the Red Cross, will contribute to enhance the distinguished health service for the inmates from the moment they enter the center, by knowing the patients’ medical history, the treatments that are given to them and the diseases they suffer from. This helps the center’s doctors to achieve a proper diagnosis for the inmate, follow up on providing him with the necessary health care, and then follow up his treatment upon his release at any hospital or health center followed to  the Ministry of Health.

On the other hand, a sweets factory was opened in the Swaqa Rehabilitation Center, which comes as part of rehabilitation programs implemented by the Department in accordance with the highest international standards, which take into account the rights of inmates, contribute to support  their creative energies, and providing them with  the skills and experiences necessary to Integrate them into society after their release.
