An advanced security operations room has started its work in Aqaba since the report  was received in coordination with the concerned authorities in the governorate.

 Civil Defense teams declared a state of emergency from the first moment, and dealings are underway to complete the inspection and disinfection of the site. 2500 officers and personnel and 240 specialized vehicles  of public security and civil defense dealt with the incident, accompanied by the hazardous materials team and the water rescue team.

Two teams from the Laboratory and Forensic Department are on site to detect and collect samples and evidence.

PSD  indicated that an advanced security operations room began its work in Aqaba since the report was received that the gas tanker fell.  the civil defense teams in Aqaba declared a state of extreme emergency from the first moment, as they dispatched  the site and was immediately evacuated, and began search, ambulance and rescue operations, provided first aid to the injured, and disinfected the injured and a number of those present of chemical substances.

PSD spokesman indicated  that during the operations, 45 injuries were recorded among the personnel  of public security from the police, gendarmerie and civil defense, who dealt with the incident  in its first moments and received the necessary treatment and left the hospital, while 5 others were still under treatment.

Operations  are underway to complete the inspection and purification of the site, in full coordination with the Armed Forces - the Arab Army, and all concerned parties. He indicated that 2,500 officers and personnel and 240 specialized vehicles  of public security and civil defense dealt with the incident and transported the injured, while the civil defense team dealing with hazardous materials worked to purify the site, in addition to the participation of water rescue teams and divers in search and rescue operations. two teams from the Department of Laboratories are present at the site to detect and collect samples and evidence.
