Balqa Police Directorate

• The first police directorate was established in Balqa Governorate in 1928, at the time of the establishment of the Emirate of Transjordan.
• In 1967, the Directorate building was established in Al-Salt / Al-Salam governorate.
• In 2010, the old governorate building was set for the Directorate.
• On 1/7/2012, the West Balqa Directorate was established  and AOR were distributed due to the expansion of spatial jurisdiction.

Among the duties of the Balqa Governorate Police Directorate are the implementation of all orders and instructions issued by the Regional Security Command, the provision of distinguished police services to service recipients, the development of police and security action plans from which executive plans for prevention and combating crime emerge, the periodic evaluation of the police and security action plans and the necessary amendments in their regard, Strengthening the system of knowledge, communication, creativity and innovation in individual and institutional work, optimal use of available human and material resources, guidance and supervision of all attached Public Security units, strengthening partnership and cooperation with security agencies and official institutions, and maintaining communication, cooperation and social responsibility roles with service recipients and the local community.
