Traffic departments call on citizens to keep their vehicles ready for winter, before the winter campaign
The Central Traffic Department, Highway Patrol Department and Traffic Institute urged the citizens to check the preparedness of the vehicles and their readiness to receive the winter season and to carry out the winter periodic maintenance of their vehicles to be fully prepared for the journey in the difficult weather conditions and before starting the winter campaign which will start on Sunday 5/11/2017.
Pointing to the need to inspect the mechanical and technical parts of the vehicle, which must be ready during the process in the weather, such as tires, lights, glass, scanners, oils and water of the engine of the vehicle and make sure of the work of the heaters inside public vehicles, especially the ones that drying the back glass, and check the existence of mudguards on buses, medium-sized passenger vehicles and cargo vehicles, in addition to inspecting other technical parts related to safety in general, such as safety belts and the absence of any obstruct to the vision on the vehicle windows and other parts that ensure their safety and not being subjected to accidents or obstructs.
Traffic departments added that the vehicle that is ready and well-prepared for winter season will be given a sticker stating that it will not be stopped again for this purpose. If any malfunction is detected in one or more parts of the vehicle in dealing with the road during the winter season, the driver will be directed to the nature of defect in the vehicle to be repaired and he will be alerted to the importance of safe driving during winter and also he will be given a notice of a week-long to repair the faults.
PSD called on drivers to check the technical validity of their vehicles
to face the various winter conditions, and to perform the necessary maintenance for their safety and safety of others, and to avoid obstructing traffic due to weather conditions.
