PSD and the Media Commission warn of suspicious pages on social networking sites spreading rumors and false and misleading news
PSD warned in a statement that many of the suspicious pages on social networking sites created by unknown people to spread rumors and false news through which mislead the public opinion, the users of that purpose are using names of pages to deceive the reader that they are licensed news sites.
PSD confirmed that the Electronic Crimes Unit in the CID watches and monitors such pages and takes the necessary measures in respect of them. and in relation to all published or circulated on these sites of comments or publications.
PSD called upon all citizens to be cautious of those pages and not to interact with them or to transmit what is published in them or to authenticate everything circulated on them and not to consider them as truthful facts and true before the certainty of the truth of those pages that are dealt with or comment on them so as not to expose themselves to prosecution.
It is noted that in coordination between PSD and Jordan Media Commission, these pages are followed up and verified if they affiliated to licensed sites or not, In order to be followed by all means, legal channels and procedural to miss the opportunity for anyone who tries to tamper with and mislead the public opinion and take legal action against them.
