Anti-Narcotics Department foils three attempts to smuggle narcotics
PSD / Public Relations and Mass Media Department stated that the employees of Anti-Narcotics Department have dealt in the past few days with a number of information related to the attempts to smuggle quantities of narcotics, through investigation and follow-up of these cases thwarted three attempts to smuggle these narcotics into the Kingdom Or outside.
PSD / Public Relations and Mass Media Department added that the first case was in Zarqa province after a team of Anti-Narcotics Department tracked information received about suspects preparing and storing quantities of narcotic pills inside a mail package in a freight office to be sent to a neighboring country.
Anti-Narcotics Department employees Through investigations and gathered information were able to identify the suspects and the used freight office for sending package through, immediately they headed to the location and seized the package, which was found to contain food (Makdoos) and by searching the Makdoos pieces they were able to find hidden baloons filled with 5000 narcotic pills. investigation indicated for three suspects, two of them were arrested and the search is ongoing for third partner in the case.
In the second case, a team of Anti-Narcotics Department tracked down and monitored a suspect of narcotics smuggler after receiving information about his intention to smuggle a volume of these materials through one of the border crossings. the suspect concealed the narcotics in the body of a vehicle belonging to him,the specifications of the vehicle conveyed to the anti-narcotics workers at one of the southern border crossings, they stopped the vehicle immediately when entering the border crossing and seized his vehicle, which was thoroughly searched and they were able to find in a part of the vehicles engine approximately 22000 narcotic pills and investigations began with the arrested.
In the province of Aqaba, the staff of Anti-Narcotics Department arrested a person of an Arab nationality immediately after entering the Kingdom through the border crossing after it was confirmed his possession of a number of narcotic substances, where he was searched to find 650 grams of cocaine drug in a bag with him, Following the investigation into the case, three other persons inside the Kingdom were found to have been involved in the smuggling attempt and all of them have been arrested and investigations are under way.
