Public security directorate launches the campaign – the safe road.
On behalf of Public Security Director, Maj. Gen. Hussein Al-Hawatmeh, the Assistant for Management and Logistic Support, Brig. Dr. Moatasem Abu Shatal launched today (the Safe road) campaign on the Public Security Radio (Amen FM), which aims to reduce traffic accidents.
Brig. Abu Shatal said that Public Security Directorate followed the Royal steps of His Majesty, King Abdullah II Ben Al Hussein, the supreme commander of Jordan Armed Forces, to achieve His Vision for Jordan to be a safe, stable country to the future generations, as the launch of this campaign comes to achieve the state strategic goal of protecting the safety of citizens after the process of integrating the security services which came under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II with the aim of improving the level of security services provided to citizens.
The Assistant for Management and Logistic Support stated that the directives of Public Security Director, Maj. Gen. Hussein Al-Hawatmeh focused on the need to pay attention to the risks of traffic accidents on highways and roads and consider them to be of utmost importance. During the visit to the traffic department , Brig. Abu Shattal said that logistic and morale support will be provided to the traffic via establishing professional training program from the rank of sergeant up to Lt. Col. Under the name of ( traffic track ) in which it aims at providing the traffic personnel with traffic skills and compounding the work between traffic and high way patrols departments.
Brig. Abu Shatal added that we are all a part of this campaign, as there will be partnership with Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Ministry of Municipalities, Greater Amman Municipality for the purpose of preparing streets and infrastructure, drivers training schools, the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan in terms of driver training, in addition to the Ministry Endowments and Islamic affairs, universities, schools, Mass media and social media, workshops and courses for police friends in addition to plays held by police theater team in all governorates to spread awareness among citizens regarding the dangers of traffic accidents, indicating that Public Security Directorate has recently taken a number of procedures aimed at reducing traffic accidents, including increasing the personnel number in the traffic investigation and using technology in traffic departments, especially cameras, for the purposes of documentation and reducing gap between citizens and the traffic police men, noting that the updated traffic law on standby after it is approved by the legislative authorities.
The success of this campaign depends on the citizens and their awareness regarding the social responsibilities of driving in positive manner and reporting any traffic offences to traffic department.
It is noteworthy that the campaign will include many programs and events that will be implemented in all governorates of the Kingdom, including inviting a number of traffic safety specialists, academics, victims of traffic accidents and their families through various media to discuss the social, psychological, health implications of these accidents. educational brochures and posters will also be drawn up, guides, and traffic warnings, videos and educational flashes about traffic violations and their seriousness and causes, in addition to SMS on cell phones, and other activities all related to traffic safety.
