Public Security runners achieved advanced positions in the marathon which is characterized by its desert nature and was held on the western mainland of the historic city of Luxor about 520 runners from more than 20 countries, including Egypt, the Netherlands, Canada, England and Japan, Germany, Poland, China, Brazil, America, Ireland, Australia, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.

Public Security runner Ahmed Muhaisen achieved the first place in the (42) km race, recording a time of two hours and thirty-one minutes.

Runner Saad Salameh won the first place in a 12 km race with a time of thirty eight minutes.

Public Security runner, Nabil Al-Muqabla, and his companion, the runner, Raafat Al-Zboun, won first place in a 12-km race for people with special needs, recording a time of forty-four minutes.

In the (21) km race, the runner Ahmed Sammour won the second place, recording a time of one hour and fifteen minutes.

The delegation of the Public Security Directorate team to the tournament was headed by Colonel Mahmoud Al-Fayez, and included in its membership Major Zuhair Al-Zboun, the coach of the team, and the players (Ahmed Muhaisen, Ahmed Samour, Saad Salama, Nabil Al-Muqabla, Raafat Al-Zboun.
