The Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya, patronized today, in the presence of the Director of Public Security, Major General AbeidAllah Maaitah, the celebration held by the Public Security Directorate on the occasion of the International Traffic Day and the Arab Traffic Week, which came under the title "Traffic Rules Civilized Behavior".

The Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya, said in a speech that the celebration of this occasion comes within the framework of keenness to implement and translate the Royal directives, which aim to improve the traffic situation in the service of citizens, the continuous and great efforts made by the Public Security Directorate around the clock in all circumstances to provide traffic services through good planning and work in partnership with all ministries and national institutions.

Al-Faraya stressed, during the celebration, which was attended by representatives from various ministries, public and private sector institutions, and popular events, that Jordan is at the forefront of the Arab countries that are committed to celebrating this occasion, recognizing its importance, and contributing to international efforts to confront traffic problems, especially accidents and the resulting loss of life property, which the Public Security Directorate was able to reduce in the first half of the year 2023 due to the traffic strategy.

For his part, the Assistant Director of the Public Security for Traffic and Foreign Affairs, Brigadier General Eng. Rami Al-Dabbas, confirmed that the Public Security Directorate is keen to make all possible efforts to provide a safe traffic environment on the roads to give the traffic safety file as a top national priority, and proceeded to implement its traffic strategy that worked Through it, to consolidate cooperation and partnership with various institutions and agencies related to traffic affairs, with the aim of preserving the safety of road users and reducing the rates of traffic accidents.

Brigadier General Al-Dabbas indicated that Public Security Directorate worked through the operational and media dimensions to promote a traffic culture based on adherence to traffic rules, and the rejection of wrong behavior and dangerous violations, through awareness and media plans. On the legal side, the Directorate has the trained human resources and modern technology in order to Enforcing the traffic law, and strengthening traditional and electronic monitoring and control, which contributed to reducing accidents by 14% and reducing the number of deaths resulting from them by 4% during the first three months of this year compared to the same period last year.

At the end of the celebration, The minister honored a number of committed drivers from various governorates of the Kingdom, military and civilians who have been driving for more than fifteen years without any traffic accident or traffic violation being recorded against them.

The attendees also toured the traffic exhibition held by the Public Security Directorate on this occasion, which included a presentation of the most important mechanisms, devices and modern equipment used in the traffic field and in the fields of maintaining road safety.
