Deputizing the Director of Public Security, Major General AbeidAllah Maaitah, the Assistant for Operations and Training, Brigadier General Anwar Al-Tarawneh, patronized the celebration held by the Public Security Directorate on the occasion of the International Day of Civil Defense and Civil Protection, which falls on the first of March of each year.

This year's celebration came under the title (The Role of Information Technology in Risk Assessment) to simulate the significant role that technological development plays in light of the qualitative change the world is witnessing in the field of communications and information technology and its significant role in risk assessment, which contributes to preserving the achievements and development process.

The Director of Civil Defense, Brigadier General Eng. Hatem Yaqoub Jaber, emphasized that the title of the international organization is a practical reality for the Civil Defense Directorate, which seeks to develop its work procedures by introducing technical and electronic devices in its work and benefiting from the rapid technical development in the field of communications and information technology to be used in risk assessment. .

The ceremony, which was attended by the Director of International Relations at the French Civil Defense and Crisis Management Directorate, Brigadier General Bruno Oliac, and the Director of the French Development Agency (AFD), Laurent Dugyy, included a discussion of several working papers presented by the strategic partners in the field of disasters and limiting their effects, and honoring a number of civil defense employees who distinguished themselves in performing their duties during their working career.

On the sidelines of the celebration, an exhibition of modern and advanced civil defense machinery and equipment was held in all governorates of the Kingdom, during which posters and educational awareness brochures  were distributed, in addition to conducting blood pressure and diabetes checks for visitors to the exhibitions.
