His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, today, Monday, visited the Public Security Directorate and  expressed his pride in the staff-members.

At the command and control center, His Majesty observed, via visual communication technology, the Petra 2023 exercise, which was carried out by the Civil Defense Directorate, in the presence of the Director of Public Security, Major General AbeidAllah Maaitah.

The exercise included a simulation of the formation of torrents, the evacuations of stuck people in the archaeological site in Petra, the rescue of injured people on the rocky areas and the best mechanism for dealing with such cases.

the Royal Jordanian Air Force, various public security units and four-wheel drive teams participated in the exercise, which was held in cooperation with the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority.

His Majesty the King praised the skill and professionalism of the participants in the exercise and their readiness, and the cooperation of the local community in the city of Petra, indicating to the importance of the citizen's role in the success of such exercises.

During the visit, His Majesty inaugurated the new Public Security Radio studios, where he was briefed on the most important media plans undertaken by the Public Security Directorate through awareness campaigns and providing information to citizens.

His Majesty the King noted the important role played by the media in the Public Security Directorate, stressing the need to enhance interaction with the media and deliver the educational message in a modern way.

His Majesty toured the Mass Media and Community Policing Directorate.

For his part, Major General Al-Maaitah affirmed that Public Security Directorate is continuing to implement the Royal visions through a security strategy to serve citizens in various aspects of life.
